Photo composition – follow the eyes

Another very effective way of creating focal point in photography is to make use of a person’s gaze in your photo composition.

Using the gaze as well as the hand and lines on the carrom board creates a focal point photography on the carrom men.

Basically photography of people is by observing where the person is gazing. You need to be quite fast to catch the fleeting moment because a person does not sit still. Catching their eyes and by following it, you could create a focal point in your photo composition. For example, two persons staring at a book creates a point of interest from both the persons’ gaze to the book; or it could even be a mother and child playing with the mother looking at the child and the child looking at the in the mother’s hand and thus when you look at the picture, you will follow the gaze from the mother to the child, and from the child to the toy.
