About Photography Basics

Learning photography basics is so much fun! And I thought I just share what I know about basics of photography. Like the namesake, it is all about basics. Nothing fancy. I myself is going through the motion too. There are many more advance photography sites around the net with very superb photos being taken by the pros.

Photography is not an overnight skill. It does not mean that you have the best photography equipment you will automatically capture the best picture. The photography equipment does not make you an expert photographer, but rather what you learn and apply makes you a good a photographer whether you are using a top end Digital SLR or a point-and-shoot compact camera, or even a simple mobile phone camera.

Of course good photography equipment will edge out compact cameras and mobile cameras in capturing a good picture, but sometimes all you have in hand is just a compact camera or just your handy-dandy mobile phone and the scene that is presented to you is something you want to capture and all you have is that do you just give up? No, at least give it a try with whatever you have.

I have always wanted to pursue my photography hobby ever since I started work but the cost of film was rather prohibitive during the negative film era. But with the advancement in digital technology it has become very cost effective to take up photography as hobby.

A digital camera has so much advantages over the film photography, for one, you can immediately see what you have capture and you can recapture the scene again if it was not to your satisfaction and of course there is the cost element, it has become so cheap to take many pictures without having to suffer on negative film development and photo prints.

In the negative film days I have to conserve my shots and ensure whatever picture I take counts, but now you are limited by the amount of digital memory you can store in your digital storage media. You no longer have to worry about not taking that shot except perhaps your computer storage media where your burgeoning collection of photos is threatening to burst your hard drive capacity. No worries! Even the cost of storage and for backups is coming down all the time! Of course, you have to figure out an effective way to store and make backups; otherwise a hard disk crash would reduce you to a sobbing baby.

Photography and Website

Hobbies are great!

One thing about the digital age is that the price of technology is coming down all the time and it now becomes quite affordable to own a website. So another new hobby is now in my belt and that is posting my hobby activities online to be shared with others who have likeminded interest. And another great thing about going online, if you think that, yeah, I have already plonk in a large amount of mullahs into my photography equipment and such and now ploughing more money into webhosting and website is too much to bear, then think of it this way. What if your hobbies can give you some returns?

Now that would be an interesting idea. Make your hobby investment pay you back!

Hey, wait I don’t know a thing about making website? Well neither did I. So while browsing around the online world I came across this intriguing system offered by Sitesell. They call it Site Build It. They said instead of just building a website for fun or as a hobby site, why not making it into a profitable website?

Why not let what you know and what you do online into fund seeking endeavour to pay off all those investment you poured into your photography equipment? Well it doesn’t have to be a photography website, it can be anything. You could do a travel site, after all while travelling you have took many good travel photography and now you want to complement the story behind the photos that you have taken. The possibilities are endless! Perhaps you are good at cooking, and you want to show off your recipes, or perhaps you have something to share about raising children or even about pets, who knows?

You have the knowledge in you and all you need now is an avenue to share that information and in turn it could net you some income. Hey, if you are good at it, you may even earn enough to do it full time!

Of course everybody has to start somewhere. And it will need diligence and perseverance on your part. And the first step to go of course would be to check out the Sitesell Site Build it. So head on over and see what they have and keep it in mind.
